SONY VENICE, ANGENIEUX 25-250 & LEICA R

angenieux 25-250 T3.9

The Angenieux 25-250 T3.9 is a truly special lens. With its warm flares, low contrast, and painterly bokeh, it provides a distinctive character that modern optics struggle to replicate.

Originally manufactured in 1962, this was the first 10x zoom lens ever produced, marking a turning point in cinema history. While the telescoping and rotating front focus group can make it less practical for modern setups, Arma Cine’s Orbital system has revived its usability. The Orbital eliminates front rotation to allow for clamp-on matte boxes and adds support for focus motors.

Since this lens was designed for the Academy 35mm format, we recommend pairing it with our Century 1.4x Extender for full compatibility with modern cinema cameras. This lens also pairs well with our Leica R, Zeiss Super Speed, or Zeiss Standard Speed sets. We encourage matching it with other lenses that share its unique vintage personality.
